Stageright Drama Workshop

Now in its twelfth year, Stageright offers a weekly session of drama, music and dance to children aged between 6 and 16.
Julie takes the children for music and voice production, and Catherine - an actress with an Honours degree in drama/media/theatre - takes the drama sessions.
The main ethos is that the children have fun in a workshop environment whilst gaining confidence and learning to work in a group.
Each session lasts for one-and-a-half hours for junior and intermediate groups, and two hours for seniors.
The Workshop runs throughout the school term and the students put on a production each year for parents, families and friends.
In 2008 the senior group will be staging 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' - a modern musical based on 'The Tempest' - at the end of March.
The junior and intermediate groups will be staging a production in early July.

Enrolling at Stageright

New students can attend for the first two weeks to have a taster of what Stageright is all about, and pay weekly for those sessions. If they decide they want to continue, they then have to sign up for the rest of the term, with fees non-refundable should they later change their mind.
A few places are still available in all classes - call Julie on 01291 672701 for more details or to book a place for your child.

Stageright is held on Thursday evenings at Usk Memorial Hall, Maryport Street, Usk NP15 1AD.
Juniors and Intermediates attend from 5pm -6.30pm and Seniors from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Fees are currently £4 per session, per child, for juniors and intermediates, and £5 for seniors, with an additional one-off payment towards insurance costs at the start of each year.

Return to the Forbidden Planet
Two performances of this production were staged in March and thrilled the audiences on both nights. It was our most ambitious production so far, and the first where we had bought in a London script rather than writing our own. Our senior students, aged from 10 to 16 coped magnificently and had a lot of fun into the bargain.
